Gran Premi Marlboro de Catalunya voted best 125 race of 2003

The Gran Premi Marlboro de Catalunya in June has been voted the best race of the 2003 125cc World Championship by visitors to www.motograndprix.com. Dani Pedrosa's historic first victory on home soil came just a few kilometres away from his family home and was lauded by a passionate local crowd of over 96,000 people.

Pedrosa looked to have planned his race to perfection after surging to the front of a typically combative lead pack with just a few laps remaining. However, the Spaniard was not expecting a surprise late assault from Swiss teenager Thomas Luthi, who had never previously finished higher than eighth. Having clinched victory in a national championship round at the same circuit one week previously, Luthi made a dramatic surge for the line to set up one of the closest finishes of the season.

Now you can remember that dramatic day with our exclusive video highlights, available free of charge by clicking on the link to the right of this page.
