Pocketbike and minibike filled holidays for Naoki Matsudo

The Christmas and new year holidays were a very relaxed time because I had already sorted out my contract for next year with Yamaha Kurz, something that had not been clarified quite so early in past winters. The team counts on the support of the factory and everything is looking good at the moment. So my holidays were spent with my family, friends and just generally taking it easy. After taking part in the exhibition event that was the Asian Yamaha Cup 2003, in Jakarta (Indonesia), I then visited some sponsors to make a few deals for next year.

Just after I organised a junior pocketbike race. It was the second annual edition and I would love to schedule the event every around every Christmas time. I started out with pocketbikes and arrived in the World Championships; I want the kids to really learn to enjoy the bike and that hopefully in the future we might able to see some promising talent emerging. I am really grateful for the support of sponsors like Arai, Yamaha and Denso and also other riders like Youichi Ui and Shinya Nakano. Nobuatsu (Aoki) and I took part in a little race with the fathers of the kids and we had a great laugh joining in the fun.

A few days ago I rode for the first time this year, but it was only in the Japanese Championships for minibikes. It was a good experience and went well. Now I am beginning to start my physical training programme and working on building up my stamina. Regarding the team we are trying to sort out some private tests before the IRTA sessions.'

Naoki.
