Tetsuya Harada makes four wheeled debut... on ice!

After a year away from competitive racing Tetsuya Harada has accepted a new challenge to re-ignite his racing career. The former 250cc World Champion, who retired from the MotoGP World Championship at the end of the 2002 season, will be driving a Toyota Yaris in the Ice Race Service International 2004 in Livigno, northern Italy, next weekend.

The Japanese ex-rider will race for the Eurospeed team, sponsored by the Adria International Raceway, alongside experienced ice racers Gianmarino Zenere and Roberto Novara.

The Livigno race will take place over three days, starting at nine in the morning and running late into the evening. It promises to be a difficult four-wheeled debut for Harada but he is already planning a second race with the same team at the 24H Chamonix Mont-Blanc ice race on the 30th January.
