Elias under pole time on final day at Jerez

Two days of testing for the factory Honda 250cc squad concluded today with new boy Toni Elías again topping the time sheets with a lap which would have put him on pole position for the Grand Prix back in May. With good weather once again blessing the Spanish circuit and perfect track conditions, Elias lapped throughout the day alongside factory colleagues Roberto Rolfo and Hiroshi Aoyama, running up a total of 70 laps.

Elias' time of 1'44.6 was an improvement of over a second on his own qualifying lap riding the Aprilia back in May and was a tenth quicker than Randy de Puniet's pole time. Rolfo, meanwhile, completed 61 laps and stopped the clock at 1'45.2 - an improvement of exactly one second on his best time from yesterday. Aoyama also dropped his time by a second, clocking a best time of 1'46.2 after 52 laps.
