Sekiguchi confirms his return to World Championship action with Yamaha

Taro Sekiguchi has finally signed and sealed the deal that will see him a part of the 2004 250cc World Championships. His new Italian team, NC World Trade, were waiting for a reponse from IRTA concerning their application for participation in the series and received a positive answer some days ago, so now the Japanese rider is beginning to put together his plans and preparation for a return to Grand Prix racing.

"Last week the Team manager called me to say that IRTA had confirmed our participation in the 2004 Championships. This was of course fantastic news. Now I have to start concentrating; I have many things to do and sort out before I can start to ride," explained the Japanese 250 Champ. "The bike I will be the new Yamaha TZ250, that arrived in Italy a few days ago, and I'll be using Bridgestone tyres. I have just been to the team's HQ to discuss some details and confirm my future. At the moment we have some plans to test in Spain and then afterwards travel to the IRTA dates," added Sekiguchi, who last competed half a season in the 250cc World Championships during 2002.

Sekiguchi will be part of the team directed by Loris Castelluci and alongside Italian Max Sabbatani, who has made the jump up to the quarter-litre series for the coming year.
