Xaus discharged from hospital and heading home

Rubén Xaus was discharged from the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne on Friday morning and is now on an aeroplane back to his home in Europe. The Spanish rider ended up spending two nights under observation as a result of his nasty crash at the Phillip Island circuit on Wednesday.

Xaus, who escaped without major injury but was kept in hospital as a precautionary measure, is due to return to his native Barcelona on Saturday night. Just before boarding his flight Xaus commented: "I would just like to say thanks to everybody for the concern they have shown since the crash, although the truth is it was more of a scare than anything. I am now looking forward to getting back home and resting for a few days before returning to action as soon as possible."

The Ducati d´Antin MotoGP team have their next test pencilled in for the end of March at Catalunya.
