Updated test schedule

With the preseason testing schedule now in full swing for almost all of the MotoGP teams, just a few weeks remain before the Official MotoGP Test at Catalunya which gets underway on March 26. All of the major factories have important sessions scheduled before that date however, as they look for swift evolution before the key psychological season prologue at the Barcelona venue.

Next weekend, on the 6th and 7th March, the factory forces of HRC, Suzuki and Ducati, who have already conducted intense tests in Malaysia and Australia, will be joined at Valencia by Proton Team KR for their first shakedown of the year. It will be an important session for Kurtis Roberts and Nobu Aoki, who are hoping to have the 2004 version of the Proton V5 machine available after a frustrating winter of inactivity. Meanwhile, John Hopkins is expected to make his return for Suzuki after missing the past two tests with injuries to both his ankles.

Two days later, on the 9th March, Valentino Rossi and the rest of the factory Yamaha squad return to Phillip Island for another three days of tests. It is a key test for Rossi, who left the Australian circuit after a three-day session over a week ago requesting more horsepower from the Japanese factory as he looks to match the performance of his pace-setting Honda rivals.

Currently, the next scheduled test is then the Official MotoGP Test at Catalunya, which will again feature the exciting officially timed one-hour session as the opening round of the BMW Award for the MotoGP Best Qualifier.
