NC World Trade unveil Sabbatani and Sekiguchi

The newly-formed NC World Trade team unveiled their line-up for the 250cc World Championship at an official presentation at Imola this weekend. The team will use Yamaha TZ machines, ridden by Max Sabbatani and Taro Sekiguchi, with the technical supervision of highly-respected chief engineer Franco Moro, who parts company with Aprilia after a long relationship.

"For the first few tests I've asked the mechanics to take out a cylinder, just until I get used to riding the 250," joked Sabbatani, who has ridden a 125 for the past five seasons. "Then once the season gets underway we can put it back in. On a serious note, this is a big challenge for me and I am looking forward to contesting the 250cc World Championship."

Current quarter-litre European Champion Sekiguchi, who lives in Monza, added: "I am very happy to be in this team. It is new but everybody is working hard and we want to succeed on our own merit. I am very encouraged by the arrival of Franco Moro from Aprilia and I think that, even without an official ‘kit', we can be competitive through our own hard work."

The NC World Trade team, who are set to use Bridgestone tyres, were due to test for the first time at Mugello last week but only completed a handful of laps due to snow, and will get their first real taste of the action at the official tests at Barcelona next week.
