Coinciding with the anniversary of his death on the 20th April, bookstores in Japan launched ‘Daijiro Kato, the testimony of 74 people' on Tuesday. The book, written by top Japanese journalists Yoko Togashi and Hiromi Satoh, is based around the recollections of those close to the late Japanese rider, who died as the result of injuries sustained in an accident at the Suzuka circuit in the opening MotoGP race of the 2003 season.

Over 264 pages, illustrated by a selection of previously unseen photographs - many of which were taken by the famous photographer Yuji Hori, the likes of his former Team Manager Fausto Gresini and team-mate Sete Gibernau, along with a host of mechanics, journalists, riders and other personalities from the world of motorcycling, recall their memories of the MotoGP Legend.

Before publication, a special limited edition series went on sale at the rider's website,, with copy number 74 reserved for his family. The book is now on general sale at an approximate price of 16 euros.
