Kurtis Roberts back for Jerez

Kurtis Roberts has confirmed that he will return to MotoGP action at the second round of the season in Jerez this weekend. The American youngster pulled out of the first race at Welkom two weeks ago complaining of discomfort in the shoulder he dislocated during preseason testing at Valencia, but after an intense few days training hard in the gym and on motocross and minibikes, the son of Proton Team KR owner Kenny Roberts says he is looking forward to riding their constantly evolving V5 prototype again on Friday.

"In South Africa there was one particular corner which put my shoulder in a real awkward position, so it felt it would pop out again," explained Roberts, who like Nicky Hayden cut his teeth in the AMA Supersport and Superbike classes.

"Since then I've been doing a lot of physio and training to strengthen those muscles, and also testing on dirt bikes. I've tried to reproduce the same position and bad feeling, but the shoulder feels good. I want to go racing right away now."
