Porto accepts blame for crash

Sebastian Porto has admitted he was at fault for the crash which saw him flip spectacularly from his Aprilia at the end of the first qualifying session for the Gran Premio Malrboro de España. The Argentinean rider, who also set provisional pole position for Sundays race in an afternoon of mixed fortunes, miraculously escaped injury despite landing awkwardly on his head and even returned to the track for the final few minutes on his spare bike.

It was my mistake I drifted onto the grass, the rear wheel began to slide and the next thing I knew I hit the ground, admitted Porto. To be honest I am feeling pretty happy and, although the crash at the end of the session was a real shame, these things happen.

The important thing is that I wasnt injured. When I got back to the garage I picked up my second bike and when back out to recover some confidence. I broke the rear wheel on my main bike but Im happy because despite the crash I still got provisional pole.

Were working well and bikes working perfectly. Im very comfortable with the Aprilia, even more so on this track as its one of my favourites.

If it rains tomorrow I dont know what will happen because I still havent ridden this bike in the wet.
