BMW unveils full MotoGP Official Safety Car fleet for 2004

German vehicle manufacturers BMW today officially unveiled the full fleet of MotoGP Official Safety Cars which will endeavour to ensure the safety of the MotoGP riders on track at each and every one of the 16 rounds of the 2004 season in a special presentation at the Jerez circuit in Spain today. The cars were jetted out by jumbo jet for the first race in South Africa two weeks ago, as they will be for each of the flyaway races, but they returned to European soil this weekend and made for an impressive line-up. The fleet includes the M3 CSL and 645Ci, which will be used as rapid response vehicles, the 745i used by the Race Director, the 545i used by the Stewards, the X5 4.4i for the Safety Officer and the R1100S motorcycles which will be used by the outriders on the Inspection Lap.
