David Hailwood visits Ducati

David Hailwood visits Ducati

David Hailwood, son of the motorcycle racing legend Mike Hailwood, made a VIP visit to Ducati recently and while at the Borgo Panigale factory took time out for a tour of the factory museum with Curator Livio Lodi.

David, who owns and rides a new Ducati 749, was naturally taken by the section of museum dedicated to his late father. Striking a remarkable resemblance to Mike the Bike, Davids fascination, not least for the Ducati Desmo 250GP, commissioned by his grandfather for his father, or the Ducati 900, which his father rode to victory in the 1978 Isle of Man TT, was also drawn to the historic photos celebrating that incredible era.

Davids visit also evoked memories of the emotional lap of honour he made during the 2003 Isle of Man TT races to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his fathers famous victory there.
