Bridgestone taking the challenge to Michelin

Whilst much has been made of the steps forward currently being made by Michelin and their new 16.5inch front tyre so far this season, a great deal of the credit has to go to their rival rubber manufacturers Bridgestone, who have burst on to the Grand Prix scene in the past two seasons and forced the French company to push development to a whole new level.

As previously seen in Formula 1, the Japanese tyre manufacturer is swiftly stepping up its game in order to challenge the established order and in 2004 they are not only continuing development work with Honda and half of the Camel Pons team, but are also developing blossoming new relationships in the shape of Suzuki and Kawasaki.

In our exclusive video feature, Bridgestone Racing Manager Hiroshi Yamada discusses the aims of the supplier and the challenge facing them in MotoGP, both short and long term.
