Last year at Le Mans

Last season's 125cc race at Le Mans saw eventual World Champion Dani Pedrosa recover the series lead after clinching his second win from the opening four races. The 17 year old Spaniard hit the front from the second lap and set a searing pace that pulled him away from a following group of Lucio Cecchinello, Alex de Angelis, Andrea Dovizioso, who had set pole, and Youichi Ui.

In an unusually subdued race for the 125 class, last lap thrills were only provided by Cecchinello, Dovizioso and De Angelis in the scrap for podium positions as Ui faded. De Angelis high-sided into the gravel with only half a lap left to run, elevated Casey Stoner into a career best of fourth, whilst Cecchinello held off Dovizioso to take second.

Pablo Nieto recovered from a bad start to take fifth ahead of Ui, Stefano Perugini, Steve Jenkner, Thomas Luthi and Masao Azuma, who completed the top ten.
