Barberá unhappy with fifth place

Héctor Barberá expressed his discontent with fifth place in the 125cc race at Le Mans last Sunday, citing the tyre problems for his disappointing display after starting well from the front row of the grid. Barberá led the race during the opening exchanges but was passed by Andrea Dovizioso, Roberto Locatelli and Jorge Lorenzo in the fight for a podium and, eventually, Mirko Giansanti as he tried to hang for fourth place.

"It was a really tough race because I really thought I'd be up there fighting for the win but I just couldn't" explained the Spaniard. "The bike was basically unrideable because I had so many problems with the front tyre.

"I made a bad choice, selecting a softer tyre than the others, and it was really difficult to get the bike to turn. When things are going badly it's hard to have fun and I certainly didn't enjoy myself out there.

"I finished fifth, and I'm not happy at all. Hopefully things will go better in the next race."
