Edwards switches forks at Clermont Ferrand

Team Telefonica Movistar Honda MotoGP completed two days of tests at Michelin's Clermont Ferrand circuit on Tuesday, with Colin Edwards taking the opportunity to cast aside the front suspension forks he has insisted on incorporating into his Honda RC211V from his World Superbike days and switching to the standard Showa fork used by his team-mate Sete Gibernau, who leads the championship after three rounds.

"I am really satisfied with the two days of tests," commented Edwards. "I've gone back to using the standard forks and we found a good setting straight away. I'm really happy – we've done an excellent job and, as usual, the Michelin boys were great."

Both riders continued working closely with Michelin and Honda engineers to solve the rear chattering problems with the Unit Prolink rear suspension system which have dogged them throughout the early part of the year. The team can now enjoy a slight rest before the season bursts into life once more at Mugello in just over two weeks' time.
