‘Dédé' returns to boost D'Antin

There was a familiar face back in the MotoGP paddock at Le Mans last week, where experienced chief mechanic André Laugier was drafted into the D'Antin Ducati garage to work alongside Ruben Xaus.

Laugier, better known as ‘Dédé', forged his reputation in the 1980's tuning the machines of Jean François Baldé, Christian Sarron, Carlos Cardús, Jean-Philippe Ruggia and Carlos Lavado, before joining Luis d'Antin's structure in 1993 and spending the last two seasons in charge of their Spanish Championship commitments.

"Dedé will bring us a lot of experience and I think he can help us turn the corner after a difficult start to the season," explained d'Antin. "He was in charge of our Spanish Championship team but our priority is the World Championship and I decided that his knowledge and experience are just what we need right now."
