Fonsi Nieto fit for Mugello

Fonsi Nieto has announced himself fully fit for the Gran Premio Cinzano d'Italia after spending the last week recovering from the broken toe injury he sustained at Le Mans.

Nieto managed to finish seventh in the race in France despite suffering the injury in a crash during the morning warm-up – a performance he believes can give him the necessary encouragement going into the fourth round of the season at Mugello.

"As soon as I got back from France I went to see Dr. Villamor, my usual doctor, and he confirmed that the big toe on my right foot was broken," explained Nieto. "After three days of complete rest I am back in training, although for the moment I am just cycling as, obviously, it is a bit soon to be going jogging."

"What happened in France was a real shame because it was clear from the times I set in qualifying that I could have been up there fighting for the win, but at the end of the day I am third in the championship so my expectations have to be high. I am going to Mugello planning to give it everything," concluded the Spaniard.
