Moriwaki ready for Mugello after Sepang session

Moriwaki Racing completed their preparations for their first Grand Prix on European soil at Mugello next Sunday with an intense three-day test at Sepang last week. Australian rider Andrew Pitt got to grips with the latest version of the MD211VF, which is powered by Honda's 2004 RC211V engine, and reported key progress ahead of his first competitive appearance of the season in Italy.

"The bike overall is showing a progress in terms of reliability and drivability," commented the former World Supersport Champion, who is penciled in for further wildcard rides at Catalunya, Brno, Sepang and Phillip Island.

"The 2004 HRC V5 engine we use also is obviously nicer which I am happy with. There still is a long way to go having in mind the goals we want to achieve, but it feels good that the machine as a whole is getting better every time I get on it."

Team boss Mamoru Moriwaki echoed Pitt's optimism and sent out a special message to the MotoGP paddock. "There is a lot to be done, of course, but focusing on what the purposes were at the previous Sepang test, I would say it is going toward the right direction and showing progress," he said.

"I would also like to comment that we are looking forward to joining in a few rounds in Europe, where MotoGP originally started, as a wildcard, and seeing you all then."
