Kenny Roberts Jr frustrated by slow progress

Former World Champion Kenny Roberts Jr., expressed his frustration after another finish outside the top ten at Le Mans last week. The American had been buoyed by the swift development completed by Suzuki during the winter but claims the hard work has so far not been enough to allow himself and young team-mate John Hopkins to challenge for the top positions.

"Suzuki's working hard, Bridgestone obviously want to be competitive, that's basically all I can say," commented Roberts.

"Erv and the engineers and the team we have here did a fantastic job with the bike – the problem is we're not finishing where we want to finish but also we're not on the motorcycle we need to be on to finish where we need to finish.

"Suzuki knows that they've got, as far as riding talent between John and myself, one of the top five handful of guys you can have on there so they're not worried about that part.

"They're just try to get the best that they can out of the bike and, sometimes, tracks like here (Le Mans) it doesn't show but at other tracks it does so we'll just keep going."
