Pedrosa hoping to unlock the secret to Mugello

Dani Pedrosa discussed the keys he hopes will unlock the secret to a fast lap time and present him with his first win at the Mugello circuit. The young Spaniard has taken victories in two of the opening three rounds of the 250cc World Championship but failed to win here in his 125cc days, a record he is looking to put straight this weekend.

"In my opinion, Mugello is the most technical circuit on the calendar," commented the youngster ahead of Friday morning's first free practice session. "It is a difficult layout where the set-up of the bike and the choice of tyres determine the end result.

"I have finished fourth and second here over the past two seasons but this is my first time here on the 250 so it's unknown territory for me really. We have made a good start to the season and we are in good form, but we mustn't get carried away. Mugello will make life difficult for us.

"It is a really fast circuit with long corners and if you get the first one wrong it messes up the whole lap. You have to keep your concentration from the first session and don't ever get distracted.

"It will be really important to qualify on the front row again because there is always a dangerous coming together in the first corner."
