Last year at Catalunya

Dani Pedrosa claimed his third win of the season in last season's 125cc race at Catalunya, beating 16 year old Thomas Luthi and Alex De Angelis to establish a significant lead in the World Championship standings.

The Spaniard brought a packed grandstand to their feet and the noise rose to fever pitch as he passed Luthi on the final lap and held on to take the chequered flag.

The win proved to be a key point of the championship for Pedrosa, as fellow title candidates Lucio Cecchinello, Andrea Dovizioso and Hector Barbera all failed to finish the race.

Aside from Pedrosa's victory the race was remembered for teenager Luthi's best ever performance and the emerging promise of Jorge Lorenzo, who scored his best result up to that point and Derbi's highest placing of the year with a remarkable charge from 21st to 6th.
