Barberá wins after stunning comeback

Hector Barberá took his first victory of the season after a sensational fight-back from 23rd place in the 125cc Gran Premi Gauloises de Catalunya this afternoon.Barberá recovered from a mechanical problem on the second lap to beat series leader Dovizioso for the win, with fellow Spaniard Pablo Nieto, who himself came through from a dreadful start which saw him finish the first lap in 17th, completing the podium.

It was another typical 125cc race with a large group at the front battling it out for positions throughout the race. Roberto Locatelli crashed out of second place with just five laps to go, leaving behind an intense tussle between Pablo Nieto, Jorge Lorenzo, Alvaro Bautista, Casey Stoner, Andrea Dovizioso and Marco Simoncelli, with Barberá making his move.

The Spaniard snatched the lead from compatriot Nieto on the final lap, with Dovizioso also stealing past to increase his championship lead.
