Edwards makes front end progress

Colin Edwards continued his seemingly endless search for front-end ‘feel' with the Honda RC211V in a day of tests at the Catalunya circuit on Monday. The former World Superbike Champion has been suffering from ‘chatter' problems, aggravated by new 16.5 inch rear Michelin tyres which offer increased rear edge grip and, as a result, exert more pressure on the front wheel at full lean – one of the main sources of the vibrations known as ‘chatter'.

"I think we found something," commented the Texan after the test. "The more grip you get on the rear, the more you push the front so we're just trying to deal with that and kind of leaving it up to Michelin to come up with a rear… I think we've found something. Just some construction differences and something that helps out a bit. I'm confident we've improved."

"I think we're set for Assen. It's always been a good track for me so I'm excited. I know my set-up will be good there. You need some quick changes of direction and some fast pace to get around there and my bike is really set up that way so I'm stoked."
