Busy few weeks for Lavilla

Gregorio Lavilla has enjoyed a busy schedule over the last two weeks, riding as a replacement for Yukio Kagayama in the British Superbike Championship at Thruxton, where he finished on the podium, and stepping in as a MotoGP wildcard for Team Suzuki at Catalunya last Sunday to develop new parts for the prototype GSV-R.

The hard work continued for the Spaniard on Monday, staying on at Catalunya for a short tyre test with the team and Bridgestone, and he discussed their progress with motogp.com.

"Well, during the weekend we were testing a new bike – not completely new but a new kind of suspension, especially on the rear," explained former WSB star Lavilla.

"They wanted me to do that job during the race weekend. This morning we've been testing some tyres for Bridgestone because they are working very hard trying to close the gap with Michelin tyres.

"It was a very short test because they ran out of tyres, with the problems they had in Mugello there wasn't a great quantity of tyres. So it was just a short test, just to confirm the direction to work and that's all we did this morning."
