Tamada rues more tyre misery

Makoto Tamada cursed his luck after being forced to retire from the second race in successio at Catalunya last Sunday. The Camel Honda rider had once again demonstrated his undoubted talent on the track, battling with team-mate Max Biaggi for fifth place just seven days after leading the MotoGP race at Mugello, but tyre problems again struck and Tamada left without a single point for the second consecutive weekend.

"I unexpectedly lost grip and then got these strong vibrations that made the bike difficult to control," explained Tamada, who tested on Monday and had another blow-out.

"To continue made no sense, not even to help with development. We have to test some new material and we will try to find some solution to the difficulties we are currently having. I know Bridgestone will react and things will soon return to normal."
