Biaggi struggling with mid-corner worries

Max Biaggi's problems with the cornering of his Honda RC211V have continued at the fast and flowing Assen circuit today, the ‘Roman Emperor' struggling to twelfth place on the grid for tomorrow's race.

Biaggi lies third in the championship but is now 26 points behind leader Sete Gibernau and is in desperate need of a good result to haul himself back into the title chase.

"Our qualifying is not good, it's pretty clear," lamented the Italian. "We still have big problems which we were not able to solve, even though myself and the team tried our best. We tried two different solutions but none of them helped us to improve the bike behaviour into the corners, our weakest point.

"Comparing the telemetry data from this year and the last one we found out that in one corner I am losing up to 20km/h. This doesn't mean that I'll give up, and nor will my team, but certainly this result for me is unacceptable. Tomorrow in the warm up we'll try to fix something and then I'll try my best with what I have."
