> Honda have won the 125cc class at the Dutch TT seven times in the past ten years. Last year at the Dutch TT Aprilia riders filled the top six places for the first time ever in a 125cc GP race.

> Casey Stoner starts from pole position for the second time in his Grand Prix career, the other pole being at Mugello last year.

> This is the first time that a KTM machine has started from pole position in any class of Grand Prix racing.

> If Stoner wins the race he will be the first Australian to win the 125cc Dutch GP since Tom Phillis back in 1961.

> Pablo Nieto, who finished in second place at Assen last year, starts from his best grid position of 2004.

> Championship leader, Andrea Dovizioso has finished in the top four in each of the first five races this year.

> Steve Jenkner scored his only win in GP racing at Assen last year, leading the race from start to finish.
