Bridgestone making crucial steps forward

Kenny Roberts' pole position at the Cinzano Rio Grand Prix was the culmination of intense hard work behind the scenes at tyre manufacturers Bridgestone, who have already demonstrated that they have high quality qualification rubber at several rounds this season.

Makoto Tamada showed that the race tyre is also competitive with the fastest lap in the morning practice to confirm the potential he showed with a podium finish last year, and Racing Manager Hiroshi Yamada believes his riders can put in another strong performance on Sunday.

In this exclusive video feature, Yamada explains why Bridgestone tyres go so well at the Nelson Piquet circuit and discusses the steps the factory have taken since Shinya Nakano's blow-out and resultant 300km/h crash at Mugello a month ago.
