Xaus remains positive despite set-up problems

Rubén Xaus was in philosophical mood as he described the set-up problems which dogged his weekend at the Cinzano Rio Grand Prix. The Spanish rider crossed the line in twelfth place to continue a points-scoring run which stretches back to Le Mans, but could not hide his satisfaction after failing to get to grips with the Ducati D16 GP3 at the notoriously demanding circuit.

"I have suffered quite a lot because in four hours of track time I haven't been able to find a decent set-up and I don't think I would have done if I stayed out there several hours longer," commented Xaus.

"It is last year's bike and it's very aggressive – there will be days when it goes well and days it doesn't. Sunday was one of those days when it didn't.

"The important thing is to gather experience because I came here to learn from these guys and eventually be up there racing with them at the front. I won't stop until I achieve that and nobody will take that dream from me."
