Rolfo mystified by engine problems

Roberto Rolfo expressed his frustration at the end of another difficult weekend t the Cinzano Rio Grand Prix. The Italian rider, who finished runner-up to Manuel Poggiali in the 250cc World Championship last year, currently lies eighth in the rider standings, 73 points behind factory Honda colleague Dani Pedrosa, and says he is mystified with the mechanical problems he has had to endure so far this season.

"It may seem incredible but I do not understand what is happening with the engine on this bike, whatever we do with it we are always down on the others on top speed and it's been like that since the start of the year," moaned Rolfo.

"It's not worth taking big risks in the start to get ahead if then later in the race I gradually lose tenths of seconds on the straights and the hotter the bike gets, the worse the problems are. Hopefully it will be better at the Sachsenring, which is a shorter, more flowing track which is mainly at half-throttle."
