Matsudo takes no prisoners

Whilst the majority of eyes were understandably on the intense battle at the front of the field in Sunday's 250cc race at Rio, further down the pack the action was just as spectacular, particularly where Japanese Yamaha rider Naoki Matsudo was involved.

Matsudo started from fourteenth on the grid but stalled his bike as the red lights went out, ending up in last place as the rest of the grid rushed past him into the first corner.

Matsudo's fight-back began immediately, scything through the field from the first lap with a series of exciting overtaking manoeuvres which saw him make up a total of fourteen positions. Click the video link at the top of the page to ride onboard with Matsudo as he passes no fewer than six riders on the opening lap.
