Edwards gets fire flashback

Colin Edwards admits even the thought of the Sachsenring circuit is enough to give him flashbacks to his horror crash here one year ago, when he was forced to jump from his Aprilia at 100mph after it burst into flames. The Texan Tornado arrived in Germany today with memories still fresh of the dramatic incident, from which he remarkably escaped uninjured.

I had an awful experience at the German GP last year, when my Aprilia set fire after the fuel cap came off, explained Edwards. Luckily I escaped with a few small superficial burns but it gave me a real shock. Since then, whenever I think of Sachsenring I think of fire!

Looking at the layout of the track, Edwards admitted it was like no other he experienced in his rookie MotoGP season last year. In general, this is a strange circuit with two very different parts one where it is very difficult to overtake and another which requires a massive physical effort because it works the left-hand side of your body really hard.´

The tyres are under a lot of strain and it´s vital to make the right choice so they don´t overheat on the left-side.

Then there´s the downhill right that you have to be careful on in the first few laps because that side of the tyre takes a bit more time to get up to temperature. Lets just say I dont like this track too much!
