Rolfo sees the light

Roberto Rolfo says he is finally getting to the root of the set-up problems which have dogged his first half of the season after qualifying on the front row of the Veltins Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. The Italian rider has had a miserable start to the season and has yet to finish on the podium, but is hopeful of doing so again at a track where he took victory one year ago.

"I think I can be happy with how things have gone in qualifying because within the team we have found more evidence than ever about what is going on this season and that is what I needed," commented Rolfo. Now we have a good enough base to improve my riding and start working from at every Grand Prix.

"We have changed a lot of things over the course of the weekend but because we found the necessary base quite late, I don't think the information we have now gives us the best references.

"The main problems I have had have been with the front end – I have barely once felt comfortable with it and I didn't have full confidence. We'll make a few more changes in the morning and if they're not right we'll go back to what we know."
