Rolfo dislocates shoulder

Roberto Rolfo looks likely to miss the rest of the Cinzano British Grand Prix after dislocating his shoulder in the first qualifying session Friday afternoon. The Italian rider crashed his Honda in the opening stages of the practice and a team statement said that he is now ‘a major doubt for Sunday's race'.

Things went slightly better for Rolfo's team-mate Toni Elías, however, the Spaniard returning to form with the second fastest time of the session just five days after crashing out of the race at the Sachsenring.

"It is a satisfying result and it shows that the work we have been doing today is on the right lines," commented Elías. "In any case we have to keep working, we are doing well but we can't drop our guard because there are still a couple of sections where I am not happy.

"There is no doubt, though, that it's good to be second on the provisional grid and it makes up a little bit for my setback in Germany. Tomorrow we have to keep moving forward and make progress in the cycle part of the bike because in terms of the engine things are going well."
