Poggiali injured in British GP spill

Reining World Champion Manuel Poggiali suffered a dislocated left shoulder after crashing out of yesterdays British 250 GP at Donington Park.

The rider from San Marino high-sided his RSW250 exiting the final Goddards corner on lap three. Poggy landed heavily on his left shoulder and was taken immediately to the circuits medical centre, where doctors confirmed hed dislocated his left shoulder.

The factory Aprilia rider was lying in ninth position when he crashed as he prepared to mount a charge through the field. I am disappointed but at least I have a break now to recover. The shoulder is quite painful at the moment but Ill have a rest and be back fighting again at the next race, he remarked.

With the world championship now entering a three-week summer break, Manuel will rest his shoulder at home and doctors confirmed he should make a complete recovery in time for the Czech Republic GP in Brno on August 22.
