Jorge Lorenzo finally returned to the podium last weekend at the Cinzano British Grand Prix at Donington Park. The rider from Palma, Majorca, finished behind Andrea Dovizioso and Álvaro Bautista, after arriving at the front from a lengthy fight back through the pack following a poor start. The teenager completed a decent recovery, regaining the ground he had lost the moment the red light vanished.

"Apart from the result I am not completely satisfied," declared the ambitious rider of the Caja Madrid Derbi team after the race. "As usual I suffered a bad start and could not get up with those that set the pace from the first lap."

"The bike wasn't as good as it had been in practice, mainly because of the temperature. The most important thing is that we scored some points and we were able to take another podium result."

The British top three represented one of the youngest podiums of the year, with all three riders still in their teens. Lorenzo is now sixth in the World Championship standings with 84 points, trailing current leader Andrea Dovizioso by 79.
