Dani Pedrosa was the dominant force last weekend at Donington Park, scene of the fan-packed British Grand Prix. The Barcelona rider comprehensively rode to his second consecutive GP success after taking the chequered flag the week previously in Germany.

The Catalan started from the front row, made a decent start and set about establishing a strong rhythm to break away from the pursuing pack.

Sebastián Porto, Alex De Angelis, Fonsi Nieto, Manuel Poggiali, and Pedrosa's team-mate, Hiroshi Aoyama, all tried unsuccessfully to catch the 18 year old. Countryman Toni Elías retired with mechanical problems and both Poggiali and Aoyama crashed out, the defending World Champ has now hit the deck five times in 2004,.

Once the race was won Pedrosa could immediately see the small extra advantage the race had given him in the standings with 180 points, 34 more than De Puniet who went on to finish third, and 52 ahead of second placed Sebastián Porto.
