Rossi reflects on his first season with Yamaha

With nine rounds of the MotoGP World Championship gone and just seven remaining, Valentino Rossi boats a 22 point advantage at the top of the standings and is the clear favourite to retain the title he has held for the past three seasons. The difference this time around, of course, is that Rossi is riding a Yamaha and, after four years in the premier-class with Honda, the Italian says he is enjoying himself more than ever.

"For sure I enjoy more this year, because working for Yamaha is completely different," says Rossi. "It gives me more motivation. I enjoy very much - first because we have started from zero and we have tried to work on this bike… not from zero, but we needed to change very much.

"I've built together with Yamaha the bike. Also the air that you breathe in the box and with the engineers is completely different. It's very good for me and I feel that Yamaha trust 100% in all the information and it's very good work.

"We have changed the image of the championship in five months. If you remember, in the last races of last year, it was possible to see five Honda's in the first five. It became – for the show and also for the championship - bad, not very funny. Now is better."
