McWilliams the sharpest MotoGP shooter

Jeremy McWilliams showed that he hasn't lost his sharpness over the summer break as a group of MotoGP riders honed their competitive edge in a shoot-out at the Brno circuit on Thursday afternoon.

McWilliams lined up alongside Shinya Nakano, Shane Byrne, Troy Bayliss, Marco Melandri, Nobuatsu Aoki, Kenny Roberts, Sete Gibernau and Michel Fabrizio in a shooting range close to the circuit, stealing the show with a late demonstration of experienced gunmanship.

McWilliams turned up typically late to fire an almost perfect score after Roberts and Aoki had initially tied for victory. It was a result his team-mate Byrne found hard to take, having himself finished second to last ahead of Nakano, although like any rider he was quick to avert the blame for his poor performance.

"I had a duff shooter!" claimed Byrne. "My gun was broken, there was something wrong with the gas chamber… honestly! It was a good laugh though and nice to get back to competing against these guys. Hopefully I won't be second to last in the race on Sunday!"
