A decade to the day since Doohan´s first title

Today marks ten years to the day since Mick Doohan won the first of five consecutive 500cc World Championships which would eventually see the Australian go down as a MotoGP Legend.

On the 21st August 1994 Doohan took a clear victory over Shinichi Itoh and Luca Cadalora to seal the title with three races to spare, opening up an insurmountable 87-point gap over Kevin Schwantz, who was seventh.

Back at the Czech circuit for the Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske Republiky this weekend, Doohan looked back on that historic day a decade ago and recalled his feelings at the time.
