Lorenzo: "I had to take risks"

Jorge Lorenzo claimed his second win of the season in the Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske Republiky, the third one of his Grand Prix career. The 17 year-old, who started from the front line, admitted he wasn't expecting to live such an eventlful race.

"It was a tough, impressive race. I have to admit that, before the start, I wasn't thinking about winning, but today the engine of my machine was great and my team helped me to choose the perfect tyre."

The Caja Madrid Derbi rider had to fend off the attentions of Hector Barbera and Andrea Dovizioso in the very last lap of the race, and he eventually took the flag with a 0.036 lead over the Championship ledaer.

"I had to take risks, because I have to make the most of any opportunity that arise. I never give up. I would obviously prefer to take the lead and build up a gap, but in this class, it's very difficult to achieve it."

Lorenzo, who clinched four rostrum finishes this year, now totals 109 points and moved up to fourth in the standings.

"I hope my supporters enjoyed this race. Now, my objective is to remain amongst the front runners in the next few races."
