Rossi reflects on key test at Brno

Valentino Rossi completed two days of testing at the Brno circuit on Monday, completing key set-up work on the Yamaha M1 which the team had not been able to complete during the Grand Prix due to a lack of dry track time. The test was also a chance for Rossi to experiment with a new cowling, featuring a distinctive new air intake and aerodynamic design, as well as running through a batch of new tyres brought along by Michelin.

"Especially we work on the tyres," explained Rossi. "Michelin have a lot of new tyres and they are working very well, front and rear, and it is good for the future to improve the tyres.

"We have a new cowling which we tried but anyway it is only a prototype. Now we check the data and maybe for the last race of the year. We worked a little bit on the mapping of the engine to make the engine a little more sweet, and more or less we finished.

"It's very hard work because after a Grand Prix, to make a test is not the maximum for a rider, for the concentration, but it's very important because we have six races in a row now and it is one of the last chances to try and improve the bike."
