Positive first impressions for Gibernau with new spec Honda

Sete Gibernau admitted that he was impressed with the new specification engine delivered to him by HRC ahead of the Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske Republiky last week. The Spaniard opted not to use the new engine and exhaust system in the race and his decision was justified with a memorable victory, but two days of tests at Brno following the GP gave him ample time to evaluate the new parts.

"It's a different feeling, it's more easy to ride, it's more flat," said Gibernau. "From the bottom it's easier, the connection, so maybe for that we have to change the set-up of the bike – we cannot use the same suspension as the other one.

"What we have pretty clear in my team is that to do a good test you have to really work out everything without trying to solve the problems. First you have to understand the problems and then see if you can try to help them."
