Bayliss: "It's going to be a hard day"

Troy Bayliss admitted he was still struggling to find his way with the Ducati Desmosedici GP4 after a difficult day at Estoril. Bayliss crashed out of the wet morning practice and was unable to improve his provisional time in the dry during the afternoon session, leaving himself down thirteenth place on the grid for tomorrow's Grande Premio Marlboro de Portugal.

"It was a strange session but it's been a strange year really," commented Bayliss. "We're back in our same rut, struggling a bit. It was a difficult session but all we can do is try and make a few changes to make it better for tomorrow.

"I had a crash this morning in the rain when I was going okay and that put a bit of a dampener on things and then in the afternoon the track seemed to be down a little on grip, but that was the same for everyone.

"Tomorrow morning we'll make a few changes to see if we can make the bike a bit better. We'll make a few suspension adjustments and make one bike a bit longer because this track has got a few fast, bumpy corners which make the bike shake its head, making it difficult to put a good lap together. If we don't make it better, it's going to be a hard day."
