Dovizioso holds onto pole

Andrea Dovizioso remained untouched on pole position for the 125cc race after today's final qualifying session at Estoril despite failing to improve his provisional time. With many of the riders having pushed hard yesterday in expectance of rain today, a dry session failed to deliver the typical excitement in the push for pole.

In fact, Casey Stoner was the only rider on the front row to improve his provisional time, moving up one place to third ahead of Roberto Locatelli and leaving Dovizioso and Simone Corsi safe in a first ever one-two for Kopron Team Scot Honda.

Then only mover on the second row was Mirko Giansanti, who moved up two places from eighth to sixth. The Italian veteran therefore starts behind Marco Simoncelli but ahead of Jorge Lorenzo and Steve Jenkner.

Mika Kallio was second fastest behind his KTM team-mate Stoner in the wet morning practice but could not move any higher than ninth place in the dry this afternoon, whilst Hector Barberá and Pablo Nieto will be looking to make their customary charges from the middle of the third row in tenth and eleventh respectively.
