Despite running off the track and finishing the race back in ninth position at Estoril on Sunday, a punctured tyre for Andrea Dovizioso meant that Roberto Locatelli was able to pull back vital points on the 125cc series leader.

After an excursion across the gravel when lapping in third place on the eleventh lap, Locatelli revealed he was simply happy to finish the race, despite losing second place in the championship to eventual race winner Hector Barberá.

"I wasn't feeling 100% with the chassis setting and it that's what caused the problem," explained the former World Champion. "I was able to get back on track but I couldn't push any harder.

"Despite everything I am quite satisfied because I have made some points up on Dovizioso, even though I have dropped to third in the championship. But that doesn't matter because the main objective remains the championship and right now I am closer to the lead than I was before Sunday's race."
