Bataille looking for consistency

Eric Bataille says he is ready for a consistent end to the season after charging from 27th on the grid to a highly commendable twelfth place in the 250cc race at Estoril last week.

Bataille, who has more falls to his name than any other rider so far this year, admits his fitness has been affected by his crash-strewn season but says the result at Portugal gives him reason to be optimistic ahead of the remaining five races.

"I had a few engine problems at Estoril but I made a good start and was able to pass a lot of riders," explained Bataille, the former 250cc French Champion. "We've reached the final stage of the season and I want to score points in every round.

"Physically, I'm not on top form. Over the past four races I've been competing with pain in my collarbone and I am undergoing intense physiotherapy, but that shouldn't hinder me too much. I just want to end the season on a positive note."
