After the successful completion of the main paddock building, the final touches are being put to the facilities at the Losail International Circuit, which is almost ready to welcome to the MotoGP World Championship in just three weeks' time.

The track was opened at a special ceremony on July 9th, when Randy Mamola completed the histporic first laps of the track riding a Ducati Desmosedici, and was homologated by the FIM after inspection on August 5th.

Located on the outskirts of the capital city of Doha, the circuit generated a total construction cost of 58 million USD and will host the thirteenth round of the 2004 MotoGP World Championship, the Marlboro Grand Prix of Qatar, on the 2nd October.
